Windows XP, Vista , or Windows 7 should be able to automatically detect and install it. Try using it
on another computer that has either Windows XP, Vista , or Windows 7 on
it. If it doesn't automatically detect and install it on that one then
the flashdrive is dead.
If you have an older operating system then go here to download the driver: http://www.kingston.com/us/usb/personal_business
If your computer is XP, Vista or Windows 7, right click on the "My Computer" icon,
then left click on "Manage", on the left side list left click on :"Disk Management".
If your fash drive is pluged in and detected it will appear on the list of drives.
Look for the 16GB drive, then left click to have a list of option to perform on
the drive. Select "Format" and a pop-up window will appear for formatting options.
I recommend "Fat 32", as it is best for normal transport or backup option.
May i know what Operating System are you using? Like: WindowsXP, Windows 7, Vista. If its windows operating system, then follow this steps:
1) Insert your Data Traveler 2) Go to your My Computer 3) Look for your Data Traveler from that window 4) Right Click your Data Traveler 5) Look for FORMAT thingy in that dropdown 6) Click Format 7) Choose the File System into Fat32 8) Check the Quick Format
That device uses the standard USB storage driver in Windows. Try the device in a working Windows 7 machine. It will mount or you will see a message about formatting the drive. If it mounts your Vista is corrupted and needs fixing/reloading. If windows 7 wants to reformat the USB device, the USB device is likely corrupted and the data is lost. Or is could have been formatted for a Mac and cannot be read directly on Windows.
PS - $80 for a 4 gb USB drive is too much in the current market. You should be able to replace it for $10 or less.
if you are using operating system like windows xp or windows vista, you don't need any drivers ,just plug in your 1gb data traveler into usb port and windows will install drivers for it automatically..After that just go to my computer to see your data traveler drive to have access to it.... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- low feed backs hurt my ratings and I am tring to help you with your problem,so let me know that the information i given you is helpfull or not
