I have a sharp xr-10x projector where the bulb recently stopped working. I purchased a new lamp assembly, but when I go to remove the existing lamp assembly, it seems to be "stuck" in place. I removed the lamp cover, and then the two screws that hold the lamp assembly in place - but no matter how much I (or anyone else) pulls, the lamp doesn't budge. Sharp suggests I send the projector back in, but I'd really love to avoid that. Any ideas?
Carefully try using a flat head screw driver on the middle plastic piece. make sure it is off...
Or try coming at it from the other side after taking the top of the machine off you can unscrew 3 screws and loosen whatever might be blocking it
Flathead screwdriver under the lamp handle from the front and a sharp push down on the screwdriver handle (but don't break it) will dislodge it. it wedges in there pretty good.
Thank you everyone for your help! Was able to get the lid off, hit the reset (thanks to your posts) and it is working again! This saved me a bundle ... we were getting quotes of $150 just to look at it.
