I have an acer netbook with no CD Drive and I have no external CD Drive. How do I load programs such as MS Office on to this computer?
If you can't get an external drive, then download a (free) program such as Daemon Tools to your desktop machine and make an "image" file of your Office CD on your desktop, then copy the image file (typically in .iso file format) to a USB drive, then download Daemon Tools to your netbook, plug in the USB drive with the .iso image file on it to your netbook, then use Daemon Tools to "mount" the iso image as a "virtual CD" drive and install Office that way. Sounds complicated but it's really not -- Google "Daemon Tools" to check out that program --
A much simpler way would be to "Share" a DVD or CD drive on another computer attached to the same network.
The Aspire One is a netbook produced by
Acer; it does not come equipped with a CD ROM drive, so a traditional
hard drive reformat and Windows reinstallation is not possible without a
peripheral storage device. An external USB CD or flash drive will suffice, however.Difficulty:Moderate
