SOURCE: maytag CWE 4800 oven bake element

Go to google and type in model and IOM and it should give you what you need. Replacing the element should not be hard. Just disconnect the power first. My main concern is that you said the oven won't turn off. You may have a control switch problem. Did the element melt at the terminals or in the middle of the element itself?

How do I replace the bottom oven element on my Maytag CWE5800?

This shouldn't be too difficult. Make sure the power is off. Remove the screws that hold the oven element in place. carefully pull the element out from the back wall without losing the wires back in the holes. Install the wire on the new element push it back in the wall. Reinstall the screws and you are set. Turn the power back on and check to make sure the oven cycles when it reaches the set temperature.

Gas oven electrical hookup issue

Hello. I can help you. What you have there at the wall is a circuit with 120 volts of power available. Your Gas oven requires 240 volts of power, thus the additional [red] wire. That said, they do not match up.

You will have to run a 240 volt wire from your electrical panel to rear of your stove opening with the correct circuit breaker in the panel, the correct amperage wire to the stove, the correct receptacle for the stove and the correct plug on the stove.

This is serious electricity here so do not proceed on your own as you could get seriously hurt or worse.

Maytag wall over MEW5530BCB

Usually this turns out to be a problem with the main clock/electronic control but the only way to know for sure is to do some electrical testing with a volt/ohm meter and the wiring diagram located within the appliance. If possible use the meter and the wiring diagram to check input/output voltages looking for discrepancies between the diagram and the actual meter readings.
