A student has reset the menu to Russian.

Since I can't read Russian, I can't read any options to reset the language to English.

Can anyone tell me exactly what arrows to press to get back or English or restore factory settings?

My company uses nothing but HP printers some are connected to the network while others are locally connected to a computer. I have worked with this exact model.

First, the easiest thing to try is to power cycle the printer. Hold down the button to turn off then turn back on. You can also unplug it from its power source then plug back in.

Power cycling this printer should reset the language to default (English) or it will let you select the language when it comes back on. If that doesn't work then you can try to change it using the installed software.

Considering the fact that someone accidentally changed the language, I am assuming this printer is connected directly to a computer that you all have access to and this is not a network printer.

If this is a local printer (connected directly to the computer via USB or parrallel port) then you should have an HP Toolbox app or some other program that allows you to configure software related settings for the device. Open this tool and you should find an option for the language. This may not be available, depending on how the installation was handled (if it was installed using the CD provided by the manufacturer or installed using downloaded drivers).

Try this out and let me know if it helps.

Hi, though the language is in russian you can change that into english, if you are familiar with Windows 7, please figure out the control panel menu, then inside the control panel find the icon for regional and laguage options. it has a globe icon.Tick the "language" tab menu, then the "details", and last "add" the new language.

My nikon L20 was set to Russian or something by my young son. Now I cant read it to change it back to english....anyone know the steps to resetting language to english?

Press the MENU button. If the menu is showing icons, select the waving flag. If it's showing text, select the eleventh item. Either way, you should then see "English" as a choice.

Try this solution: press Power and Cancel buttons and hold them both for about 10-15 seconds - - then "Language Options" scrolls across the screen and one can select using the Menu button. We're now able to read messages in English!

I can't chang the lagguange as i dont understand russian

If you bought the laptop in russia it is probably running a russian version of windows. You can get an english version of windows and reinstall ms office if you like or you can reboot the laptop and when it comes to language settings choose english version of windows. Unless you can read russian or know someone who does it will be difficult to change it. But ms office should give you a language option when you install it. Try uninstalling it then reinstall it and make sure you read each and every page before you click on next I to had this same problem with ms office and when I uninstalled and reinstalled I found I had somehow missed the option for language in my windows version only mine was chinese instead of english. Once changed it was all in english

How to change the language on a Canon MP170

The guide is not particularly clear on an exact structure for the menu, so unless you can find someone who actually owns one (or if you speak to the manufacturer) you will not get a step by step. basically you have 3 options 1, get taiwanese guy to reset the language option, (or anyone who can read japenese) 2 explore the menu, yourself looking for the option which has different languages as settings(ie the options are not all in japenese) 3 contact manufacturer for factory reset (as restore defaults will not change the language settings)
