My sony 39 inch plasma flat sceen is more then 18 months old and the sound quality has always been poor. The volumn must be raised over 60% before it becomes clearly audiable. Numerious people young and old agree the sound is poor. Do you have an answer to tohis problem?
This is just a guess but the dolby sound on my system is bad however when I switch to regular "stereo" sound it improves. See if your audio set up has a choice of sound and try them all.

This is probably due to poor quality cable or connections from the aerial. Digital TV needs better quality in both (F connectors and quad shield cable) than analogue TV did.
If all that is good then you may need a better aerial or even a signal amp.
HelloThe problem shows the refresh rate. Quite propably that you are seeing the much slower beat or heterodyne. Often caused by artificial ambient lighting like florescent tubes or faulty dimmers on halogen's etc causing the beat with plasma screens. Otherwise you need to check power supply
There is a problem with the video logic board. You could take it to a repair shop or diagnose it yourself with a multi-meter looking for blown up capacitors/burnt parts.
