Mitsubishi WS-65869 65 in. Power Light

We have a Mitshbishi WS-65869 rear projection TV that is about 4 years old. When we go to turn on the TV, the power light turns on for a second, then just shuts off. There is no picture on the TV. We have tried using the reset button as well as unplugging the TV, and that does not solve the problem. Thank you so much for your help. i tried your solution - i was trying to locate the fuses. can you please advise me where the fuses are located. on the main board? or do they plug into the main board? or what other board, ????? etc.

They are little green soldered in fuses located on the center board (the one with the STK's on it) toward the rear of the set near the large transformer.

My Mitsubishi Medallion tv stays on for about 10 minutes and then shuts down and won't turn back on until a period of time has passed. It is a rear projection tv about 9 years old. Can anyone help ex

When it shuts off and the green power light goes off, press both the menu and input buttons on the front of the set (not the remote) and hold both for about five seconds and release.

Power light will blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks and then 3 blinks and repeat it several times.

What is the error code?

TV will not turn on

This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the device and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times. 1 - 2 = no error detected 2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies) 2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection) 2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source) 1. SHUTDOWN AT POWER WITH SELF DIAGNOSIS ERROR 2 2. CHECK FOR LEAKY C9A60 470 PF 1000 V PART # 154P400030, PARALLEL TO D9A57 ON THE POWER PCB. 2. SHUTDOWN AT POWER WITH SELF DIAGNOSIS ERROR 2 2. CHECK FOR OPEN FUSES F9A04 AND F9A05 ON THE +24 AND -24 VOLT LINES. IF THE FUSES ARE OPEN THE CONVERGENCE OUTPUT CIRCUIT WOULD BE SUSPECT.

Problem with WS-65869

One of the 3 CRT's being bad is a possibility but more than that at one time no. If the picture doesn't come on at all or any menus showing up the most likely you have a power supply or high voltage issue. Have a technician look at it for the best diagnosis.
