Mixer to P.A. system connection

U connect the recorder to the audio outputs of mixer. If you only have one set of outputs, get a y adapter and have one set of outputs go to the recorder and other set to the amp.

The output of mixer connects to channel A or B of the separate amplifier and the output of the am connects to the speakers. Amp channels are listed as A and B or 1 and 2 instead of Left and Right because the manufacturer does not assume how you may wire your system. Please remember that compression, limiters and EQ device connect between the mixer and the amplifier with their prespective IN and OUT levels adjusted accordingly.

You need to connect the speakers using an XLR cable into the Main output jack on the back of the mixer. If they are powered speakers you will need to connect them into a power source and turn them on AFTER connecting them. Once powered on you can control the signal going to the mixer with the Main Mix fader.

1. Turn mixer on
2. Ensure Main Mix level is at zero
   
3. Connect from Main Output to Monitors
4. Turn Monitors on
5. Turn up Main mix to desired level
   

The output jacks are PSUEDO balanced so use TRS cables and you should be able to drive two amps from each with no problem either as a WYE or daisy chained connection. The PSUEDO balanced connections do NOT drive differential voltages, but tie the return to ground through a 120 ohm resistor. It is imperative that you power ALL the amps and the mixer from the SAME receptacle or power conditioner. If you don't do this, expect lots of hum and risk of ground bounce damage to your equipment. Run extension cord if you need to.

The order is mixer, equalizer and amp. The output of the mixer connects to the input of the equalizer and the output of the equalizer connects to the input of the amp. The equalizer has three types of input and output connections. They are XLR, 1/4 inch and screw terminals. The mixer will have one or two of the three. Choose XLR if possible on the mixer, choose line level output on the mixer if possible. A XLR male to female cable is needed for the connection. The equalizer has two channels, if the mixer has two output channels the two output channels of the mixer can connect directly to the two input channels of the equalizer. If the amp has two input channels, the two output channels of the equalizer can connect directly to the two input channels of the amp. If the mixer only has one output channel then only one channel of the equalizer can be used and one channel of the amp likewise. A XLR male to female connection cable can be used to connect the equalizer to the amp.

I currently have 3 amps connected to one mixer. All you need is to check where your amp is currently plugged into the mixer. now get yourself 2x RCA two way splitters at your local music shop (ie. One male to 2 female)split the channels from your mixer input, and an extra amp can be plugged into the spare plugs

I am sorry to disagree, but some information in the previous post is INCORRECT. DO NOT connect the output of the mixer to the MIC input. The mixer generates LINE level output that should go to the LINE-IN on the sound card. If you connect the mixer to the mic input, you will damage the sound card. MIC level inputs have an additional amplification stage.

you can just piggyback the mixers - take the outputs from the mackie mixer (assuming it is NOT a powered mixer) ... those should be line level outputs - send them into a line level input on the digi 002 and then set that channel on the digi 002 and once set, just leave it, and control the mackie channels individually ... should work fine ...
