Audio vs. video

I have an lg home theater system that is brand new. when watching a dvd on my insignia the surround sound works fine, however, when i watch tv (through timewarner cable) the audio does not match the screen -it looks like a kung foo movie. the picture is ahead of the actual audio. i have had time warner out to verify the box is not defective, i have changed out to my old theater system receiver and the same thing happens. i also have exchanged out my lg theater system because of this and the problem still remains. the interesting thing is that the screen and voice will match up at first and then it will progressively become worse. if i shut off the theater system and turn it back on, it will sync up again for a while. please let me know if you have any suggestions. i feel the default must be the tv since i have tried multiple other sources and the same issue applies.

Here is the link for the user manual for your TV if you need it; http://www.insignia-products.com/skins/skin_1/Topics/Documents/IS-LCDTV32_Manual.pdf First thing you could try is to change the video cable. They are often to blame for similar problems. Also change the video cable and inut/outputs from whatever type you are using to a different set (check page 9 of the pdf file for options), depending on which video output/input options you have on your theatre system (if you need help with this, please post back details of the theatre sytem you want to use)). You may have to change the video source from the TV menu. see if you get the same delay or not (Check page 18 "selecting the signal source"). Check page 24 - try turning off the headphone output option - this may possibly be causing a problem. Also try turning SRS on or off. Page 23 "setting audio mode"- keep pressing the "stereo" button - possibly SAP is turned on. try all 3 modes. The fact that the problem develops and worsens makes me think it could be due to slight overheating in the TV electronics. The operating temperature range for this set is 5-40 degrees celcius. picture/audio delay is commonly caused by hot/cold on this set. Unless you are getting sun on the set, or particularly hot weather and no aircon, this could still happen - possibly indicating a dusty air intake. Check all of these and try vacuuming them (from the outside of the case only). Other than that, the most likely cause will be a failing capacitor somewhere in the circuit - These can be checked/replaced by most TV repair shops. Perhaps first try contacting Insignia - see if they have any ideas; http://www.insignia-products.com/t-contact.aspx Hope this helps :)

How do you set up netflix on your Panasoni TH-42PZ85U?

Hello

Currently, all three video game consoles on the market are compatible with Netflix "Watch Instantly:" Sony Playstation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii. All you will have to do is download a free application for your console. Playstation 3 users can find this application on the Playstation Network and Wii However, Xbox 360 users will have to pay a yearly Xbox Live subscription to access Netflix's video stream.

Many new models of high-definition Blu-Ray disc players already have Netflix applications. Several different manufacturers include this application, from high-end brands like Philips and Panasonic to generic brands like Vizio and Insignia. These players often include other popular internet applications, such as Facebook and Pandora Internet Radio. Also, new TiVo digital video recorder models have a built-in Netflix application.

Select HDTV models already have a Netflix "Watch Instantly" player as a pre-installed application. All you will have to do is run the Netflix application from the TV menu screen and you will be able to watch streaming Netflix movies and TV. Brands that have been including Netflix on their HDTVs as of 2011 include Sony, Sanyo, Panasonic, Vizio and many others.

Several of the same companies that manufacture Netflix ready Blu-Ray players also have full surround sound home theater sets with the same features. Though Netflix Watch Instantly does not currently support surround sound audio, this feature will be implemented in the future. Brands that have been supporting Netflix in their home theater packages include Panasonic, LG, Samsung, Insignia, and Sony.

I have a LG LHB335 Blu-Ray home theater system, & a LG TV I can get Full surround sound when the blu-ray is play a DVD but not when just watching Reg TV. I use a HDMI, should I hook up sonething else ?...

LG documentation states:

When you use SIMPLINK function, you have to

connect to the OPTICAL IN 1 jack to enjoy TV
sound to your speaker system.

Basically you need to have the Audio go from TV to receiver and setup receiver to that Input to output surround sound to all speakers.

If you have a cable box or satellite receiver, hook that output into the receivers input and that should work.

My setup is DirectTv HDMI output goes into the LG Home Theater HDMI Input 1, and LG goes HDMI output into the TV HDMI input 1.
so to watch DirectTV, I switch LG Home theater to HDMI Input 1. and TV is on HDMI input 1 (to view LG HDMI output from DriectTV, Blu-Ray, Vudu, etc.)

Lg home theater to lg plasma tv

This is a typical problem with TV broadcast UNLESS you use a matrix DSP surround sound mode, most DVD audio is either Dolby digital 5.1 surround or DTS multi-channel surround sound, unless you are viewing a HDTV broadcast with 5.1 Digital sound connected from the TV to the receiver then you are probably receiving a 2 channel Stereo sound format, I would suggest that you try to set your TV input mode to a audio Dolby Pro- Logic which will yield 5.1 and should engage all speakers.

No surround sound through tv

May be you have to set the Pro-logic option soundfield, this will matrix a 5.1 surround sound effect, unless of course you are sending a Dolby Digital 5.1 audio signal from your TV broadcast into the Home theatre system, also have to check the TV audio output to send audio output to a Home theatre system in other than 2 channel stereo.

Surround sound

Make sure the RCA cable is going from an audio OUT on TV or DirecTV box to a red/white (non-digital) audio IN on surround sound or home theater system.

Home theater system connections

Hi
I have the same tv but my dvd surround is a toshiba, that shouldn't matter though. When I watch a dvd I go to component 2 which is where I have my dvd connected on the input of the tv when I watch tv and want the surround on I go to component 1 which is the tv input then on my dvd player I go to auxillary and I can watch tv in surround. I don't know the LG home theatre system but you should be able to select your inputs like between dvd, tuner, aux. Flip between them and you should get sound. hope this helps.
