SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.
take out the memory card and move the switch located somewhere on the memory card usually on the side to the unlocked position. Then the memory card isn't locked this is so you don't accidentally delete important things Thanks and enjoy, Lee
Remove SD card, then whilst card is removed, delete all pictures that may still be stored in cameras 'internal' memory (usually just a few) then replace SD card. Should be unlocked now?.
Try pulling the memory card out of camera too see if you can take a picture with out the memory card in place.
If you can do this the memory card is locked. Look at the memory card and find small swith on the side. Look for the lock symbol and be sure the switch is not in the locked position. Move the switch as needed.
Put the card back in and try it. This should solve your problem
Your memory card has a small white "switch" on the side. Move the switch and your card will unlock. It is a saftey so you don't erase anything accidentaly.
Is your memory card locked? It won't let you delete pictures if it is. Check the little switch on the side of the memory card and move it in the opposite direction and then see what happens. Good Luck.
What you need to do is take out the card, and on the side of it there
should be a little gray thing which can slide up and down. It needs to
be slid all the way up. I hope this helps!!
The card locked usually means 'protected'
Check out the manual for image protection - on/off.
Or put card back into computer and delete[NOT FORMAT] from there.
A more comprehensive manual is usually found the the CD that came with the camera
