Question about Hitachi NV45AB2 Roofing Coil Nailer
Planning to install cedar shakes this time.
I've had a metal roof before and it didn't seem to have very many echos to me, but we also had a pretty small home. I haven't tried cedar roofing, though, so I'm not sure how that would compare. I'm hoping to have a cedar roof in my next home. http://www.saveonroofing.ca

Personally, I prefer cedar over metal. My husband and I had a metal roof on our very first home. During the winter our home would turn into an echo chamber on rainy days. At first, it's a cool experience but it gets old. I feel like cedar adds to the overall look of a home far better than metal could. If you are looking for more technical answers than this than you should look up a commercial roofing contractor and ask him for advice. Residential and Commercial Roofing

I cannot see any advantage at all. Timber dries out and cracks . Timber is very prone to ignition from fires and cinders when dry. nails rust and glues fail with time. metal lasts for a life time and comes in a variety of colours. doesn't burn and will resist higher wind speeds .
