The status light blinks after it shuts off . i can reset the tv and it will turn back on , but it eventualy shuts down . the problem keeps progressing , the tv will inly stay on about five minutes befor turning off . the fan sounds like it is struggleing , is this an easy fix /
I unplugged the tv , turned the lamp switch to off . I left it unplugged for a few hours . I then plugged the tv back in , hit the reset button , located on the front bottom left . I waited for the timer light to stop blinking , then turned the lamp switch to the on position . I turned the power on to the tv . i heard the fan kick on , this time there was not a dragging sound . the screen lit up and i have not had a problem since yesterday . i think that the problem started because the tv had been left on for too long , I know that what i have done is only a temperary fix . but as long as I dont forget to turn the tv off , i should not have a problem
Some projection TV have a high temperature switch that opens if the lamp enclosure gets too hot. Check back or TV for any grilles or openings that may have gotten plugged with lint or dust. Carefully vacuum out these openings to restore proper air flow this should reduce the temperature and may solve your problem.
Hope this helps.
