I think that on the hp website there is a program that you can use that will analyze your computer and give you info of what to do in most cases. With mine it checked to see if the proper drivers were installed.
1. DO NOT USE the CDs supplied by HP - they do not work! 2. Goto www.HP.com site and click on "Support & Drivers" Tab. 3. In Search window enter - "HP Photosmart Permium C309". 3. Download the associated Driver. 4. Double click/install the driver supplied by HP ie: "xyz.dmg" file and follow the installation prompt as if you were installing via supplied CD.
make sure your printer is compatable with vista .. many are not ... download the latest drivers if any are available for vista .. if new drivers are not provided then you could try to load the drivers using xp compatability mode ..
I would suggest you to go for restoring the system to a good known configuration.
