Program your existing walkie talkie to a common frequency with no PL code turned on and listen for activity. If you are using a TalkAbout or other FRS radio you should hear activity on one or more channels if you are in a city.

Push to talk is a kind of wireless service provided by the service provider.You might have to activate it for some charge said by the provider.Once activated, your phone becomes a walky talky that can detect around 200mts of another walky talky around.Hope this answers your question.Please do rate my solution.Thank you.

The Motorola T-5000R does not have VOX capabilties. Page 23 in the manual explains this.

This one should be a very close match. The T4508 is a foreign version of the T4500.

A walkie talky as we called them, back when we were younger - and hell we probably still do in some respects, hence the fact my friend still refers to her cordless phone as a "walkie talky" and the principals haven't changed that much.

The common old Walkie Talky or CB radio use what we call a half duplex, that means only one person can talk at a time. We are talking and listening on the same channel.

Cell phones are full duplex, meaning two way conversation, and this is simply listening on one channel whilst talking on another, so the basic principal is basically the same, just a little more sophisticated.

Walkie-talkie typically has one channel
CB radio has 40 channels.
Cell phone can communicate on 1,664 channels or more!
