the error might be a corrupt file so maybe you can try to uninstal the game then install it again.

This game and its prequels are known for their notorious Securom copyprotection which created rootkits to your computer. I have it as original CD, but I also have GOG version and I prefer to use it because it is DRM free and will not install Securom files that make your computer and sometime the game too, unstable. The game itself is great! I recommend to make it work and play!

Sometimes software pirates do that on purpose to see how popular a particular piece of software is. Or just to be mean.

Right click on the icon and click run as admin or go to compatibility mode and ask it to run on vista or windows XP.

Hi, i think where you buy the CDs from Tesco, are not OK,am sure they are the original version of that particular game (star wars).
You can try another game store and get that particular star wars cd and install to be sure is not the lens of the game that is weak to play the game or the star wars cd is bad.
