Bath waste Hi, I am currently fitting a new bath and have a Lefroy Brooks bath waste kit and as ususal no fitting instructions! What I would like to know is does one of the black washers go directly under the plughole between the metal and the bath or do both of the washers go either side if the overflow collar under the bath?

! goes over the threaded piece that screws into the piece that goes under the tub...and the other goes between the tub and the waste assembly thereby creating a sandwich with one on top and one underneath the tub....then screw the piece down tight through the tub and into the waste assembly and your good to go.....

Good luck and thanks for rating my effort.....the Fang.

Lefroy Brooks flush valve

Most flush valves are universal, but try to contact manufacturer and see if they can help, or try plumbing supply store (not a home depot)

Service need for epson rx680 wht to do?

Hi,

You have a couple of options...

The first is to take or send the printer off to be serviced by an official Epson Service technician.

The second is to fit an external waste ink kit and reset the waste ink counter on your printer.

Some folks suggest you just reset the waste ink counter and forget about it but that's never a good idea as the waste pads in the printer will eventually flood.

You can read more general information about what a "Service Required" means on wasteink.co.uk and there are also instructions for fitting a waste ink kit are available

The latter is a commercial site (my own) but the information is just as relevant for any kit.

Hopefully it's useful...

Hi, Have a situation. My bath tub(2nd floor) is leakinge and water is dripping down to my living area (through the lower level cieling). 1) I ran the water and collected it in a bucket to see if it water...

You will have to bust out the ceiling where the dripping is occuring to get to the pipes. Before doing so, check and see if your house was built with an access door for the valves. (Look on the other side of the wall where the valves are.) I have the very same problem and am going through ceiling replacement after repairing the pipes. It is a mess. Good luck.

I have a price fister BATH faucet set installed on an old bathtub> i would like to remove the knob that actuates the stopper mechanism. it is slightly triangular in shape and it does not seem to be a...

You will have to change out the waste and overflow. This is not a hard job, unscrew drain from tub, remove overflow plate and disconnect from p-trap. Go to local home improvement store and buy a new waste and overflow kit, many to choose from. Reinstall .

Very faint surface crack has appeared on base of my new enamel sink is it repairable??

If the crack is merely just a surface scratch and has NO depth to it. Then yes you can fix it and will never be able to tell a scratch was there before.

Most Home repairs store, i.e. Home Depot, Menards, Lowes carry scratch remover products. There might be a special kind specifically for enamel, make sure to check the package. The instructions are very straight forwards. Should not have any problems.

If it is a Crack, there is also like a bondo type product at the same stores that will fix it too...That takes a bit more technique to make sure its smooth and blends in with the rest but either way make sure you read labels and follow instructions.

I hope this Helps...Thanks for using FixYa.com

My master bathtub is leaking

Yes the weight of someone in the tub plus the water can push the tub down far enough to cause the leak.
Unscrew the flange in the tub that holds the drain to the tub. Get some plumbers putty and make a bead to fit between the tub and flange.
Make sure the rubber gasket is clean ..use a bit of plumber's putty on this as well. Get an assistant to stand in the tub while you snug things up.
Snug it up tight.... replace if the threads are stripped as you said.
Plus if your house is less than a year old, I'd talk to the contractor/builder if possible about warranty work...most reputable builders will cover their work for the first year.

Belfast sink repair company in ireland?

Sorry to disappoint you, but unlike steel or cast iron ceramic sinks cannot be re-enamelled. To do so someone would have to grind off the remaining enamel and then reapply and re-fire the sink: not only would this be very laboiur intensive but the sink would be unlikely to survive the mechanical and heat processes involved.

If you can't live with your crazed or cracked enamel then buy a replacement sink. They're still manufactured as there is a demand for them.

Waste trap under bath leaks

put the putty under the flange where it makes contact with the inside of the bath, push the flange to the bath & tighten nut underneath. Trim off excess. Have an overflow pipe [not intergral] make sure the top & bottom of the collar have rubber seals
If the whole lot is plastic there may well be a leak down & along the thread of the waste.[it comes from the o/flow pipe collar] Silicone the thread and tighten nut. make sure it's dry first - silicone & water do not make a happy couple

Whirlpool waste connection

you are correct, you must have a P-TRAP. I believe the instructions are talking about not having an xtra trap between the disposal and the existing trap.
