If you've installed it recently make sure the hot water tap was plumbed in and not the cold water tap, check the hot water tap temp in the house to make sure it's getting warm, there also should be a heating element located inside of the dishwaher that heats up to help the dishes dry at the end of the wash cycle, which is controled by a thermostat. If the heating element or the thermostat are bad your dishes won't dry.

Why are dishes white smeared, and still wet?

What happens if you use "air" dry? I would guess the rince cycle is missed and jumps into the hot dry or there are some wires switched. Have you had it serviced recently? If so ask them to come back, "because it wasn't that way before you touched it"

Dishwasher washes dishes but does not dry even though that display shows dry icon

First ,Check for a water puddle on the bottom of the dishwasher .If you have water there, you more than likely have a plugged drain or drain hose, or bad drain pump (less likely) If no water is there see if the dishes are hot after a cycle. If they are not you could have a bad heater (that circular thing on the bottom of the dishwasher) other problems could be the timer or computer Depending on the model brand and age of the dishwasher .One last thing there is a vent to let moisture escape that could be bad but then you would have hot wet dishes

It' no longer cleaning my dishes

hello,

If your dishes are coming out of the dishwasher covered by a removable dirty film, your water may not be hot enough, or you could be using an inferior brand of automatic dishwashing detergent. If you have tested your hot water and find it is between 140 degrees and 160 degrees Fahrenheit, consider how long it takes for the hot water to reach the dirty dishes in the dishwasher. If the hot water has to travel a long distance to reach the dishwasher, chances are the water filling the dishwasher starts out cold. To alleviate this problem, run the hot water nearest to your dishwasher until the water coming out is hot. This will guarantee the water filling the dishwasher is as hot as it should be to properly clean dirty dishes.

To remove this type of film from dirty dishes, after running the dishes through a basic rinse cycle, set a bowl filled with a cup or two of white vinegar on the lowest rack of the dishwasher. Remove any metal pans or utensils, and with the vinegar on the bottom rack, wash the dishes as usual. Dirty dishes that were once covered in film should come out squeaky clean

thanks.

Dishes come ot just like I put them in

Check that both spray bars are turning. They can both be easily removed.

Once removed, make sure they are not clogged with stuff to prevent them from turning.

I assume you can hear water spraying around inside when it's washing, and that the dishes do get wet, and water does get hot.

Soap dispenser requires water hitting on it to open.

Doesnt dry dishes

The heater on this unit only comes on twice, once in the wash cycle, and again in the Sanitary rinse. During the drying cycle all that happens is a vent opens and a fan comes on. The fan removes the hot moist air from the unit and the dishes dry off. If your water is not hot enough, this is why your dishes are still wet. Rinse aid also helps to sheen off the excess water as well.
