I have a Hitach 32HXC05U tv and it wont play media/films via the usb port....Can you tell me what format films must be in to be able to watch tham on the tv please?
This tv will only play mp4 video (MPEG-4) ONLY AND DOES NOT PLAY THE H.264 MP4 FILETYPE EITHER...ONLY TRUE MP4, BEST BET IS TO GRAB YOUTUBEDOWNLOADER (IT'S FREE) AND USE THE CONVERSION FEATURE TO CONVERT YOUR MOVIES TO THE IPAD VIDEO SETTING WITH SAME QUALITY AS ORIGINAL SELECTED...CONVERSION TAKES 30 SECONDS...BEST 100% GUARANTEED TO WORK ANSWER..I KNOW...I HAVE ONE CONNECTED TO MY 4TB HARD DRIVE.
It doesnt work, but I have different tv than you, mine is 40HXC06U. Does this make any difference ? I used different converter and it says "Unsupported sound format" or something like that. Any ideas how to make it work ?
yes...... unfortunatley that model is the worst Hitachi model with only one Audio Codec, it uses the PCM sound codec and will not decode MKV or DTS Divx audio, try using the youtube video codec to convert your videos to (XVid Mpeg4) that setting is the most common convert setting for most codecs on the older Tv's for LG, Samsung, and Hitachi, the youtubeDownloader converter is the only one that will convert anyfile to an XVID with the most basic Nicam Audio Codec and PCM Audio for your TV. select the XVID-MPEG4 Convert as in the picture below
Unfortunately, it doesn't work. :/ I don't know, maybe should I use different converter ?
what converter are you using?
The one you told me to use, and "Total Video Converter". But when I converted the movie into MPEG-4 using YTD Converter, and I wanted to play the movie it said it doesn't support this format, but when I used Total Video Converter and converted the movie into MPEG-4, when I wanted to play the movie it said "Unsupported sound format".

SOURCE: can i play movies off a USB in the tv's USB port
OK, well I have used this many many times. You simply need to copy the Movie in any of the Formats that the set can use, and copy the Movie to the USB stick. When the stick is inserted, using the remote you simply "Select" that "USB Input" and select the Movie, and select "Play", IF the right Format, has been used, the Movie will "Play" as if it was a DVD.
Consult your manual. link below.

SOURCE: Trying to connect an ipod to LG plasma tv via USB
Hey - I'm in the same boat, did you get it working? I connect and get the USB menu up, but the tv says that the file is corrupt, even though the iPod works fine when it's not connected to the tv.
SOURCE: i am not able to
there isnt much info for this tv, but some pretty common movie formats compatible with tvs would be avi, mp4, and mkv. Try one of those.
Hope this helped
