Loud noise during spin cycle
Pop off the front panel and look at the inside of it,if you see black dots on the bottom half and on the other walls like half way up from the bottom you have bad tub seals, the seal is made of metal and rubber, when it leaks and in spin it will shot out water and it will be black from the rubber, also you can fill it as high as it will go,then turn the timer to spin and watch where the tranny.and tub meet,if it sounds like marbles spinning and grinding and water leaks out it's the seals.if so time for new washer

Squealing normal
occurs due to belt slippage. I would check your belts (look for cracks.
Check the belt tension as well, most washers have an adjustment,
normally on the motor that allows you to increase the tension of the
belt.
If part of a belt gets torn and it is long enough, it will hit any part of the washing machine within range and make a clicking noise at every revolution of the motor.
I am pretty sure you need new belts. You should be able to remove a few screws and open the back cover. Between the pulleys there is a tensioner...loosen that so you can remove the belt easily. replace it with a new belt and adjust the tension.
hope this helps

Your maytag is really an amana and the bearings are bad. Yes it does cost a lot. If i were you i would buy another washer. Get a whirlpool. (whirlpool now owns maytag)

Unless your front loader is set firmly on concrete
and leveled to perfection, the force of a heavy wash load spinning in
excess of 1000rpm will create a bit of vibration and noise.A firm footing is your best defense against to much movement.
Also due to the earlier movements during the spin cycle, the
shocks that are used to dampen the spin cycle might have been broken or
damaged.
If the problem persists inspite of proper levelling, please do check for the shocks or might have them replaced them for good.

This washer is JUNK!!!!!! We have the same washer (2 1/2 years old) and same problem. Tried to replace the bearing myself, no luck. So I called a repair man to come out and look at it. As soon as i told him the model number, they would'nt even come out. Very common problem for this washer. We are on our way to Sears to purchase a Kenmore.....GOOD LUCK

Probably a broken strut or support. some call it a shock absorber.
