Question about M-Audio Fast Track USB (FASTTRACK) Audio Input

1 Answer

No sound recognized in Audacity from Fast Track M-Audio

I'm trying to record a guitar track into Audacity with my acoustic guitar plugged into my M-Audio Fast Track guitar/mic recording interface, but Audacity doesn't recognize the sound card. I've chosen the recording device to be Fast Track but still no recognition. Thanks for your help!

First thing is what operating system is on the computer.
Second is what does device manager say about the recording interface?
Third in audio properties from the task bar icon, what is the default device for recording?

Hello, try going into Sound & Audio Settings through control panel. From there, click on the Audio Button. Toward the bottom on the left, UNCHECK the box that says 'USE ONLY DEFAULT DEVICES'. Then Under RECORDING section, pull down the drop menu and select M-Audio. And Click APPLY & OK to close. I would reboot and it should be working after that.. ok? Good Luck & PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO RATE MY SUGGESTION, OK? THANK YOU :)

Audacity is a copyrighted audio source and does not permit you to record tracks or playback of any kind. you will need to D/L the audio file you are trying to record in tangent and then play them together through an audio remixing app, like Ableton live or FL Studio

In Protools go into hardware setup and make sure that your interface is being read properly. It may be set to something other then your fast track. Then, in the MIX window make sure that your input is set correctly. If your microphone is plugged into input 1, your input on your protools track should correspond to that.

You could try double clicking on the amp image in the Guitar Track panel on the right of the screen, and when it spins around, you should see controls for Input Source, Monitor, Recording Level etc.
Select Monitor: On
I found that to be the source of my frustration, when I couldn't get any sound.
Hope this helps

M-Audio Fast Track Pro

Hi,

I guess if your still looking for an answer your probably desperate. Never the less, if someone else is looking for an answer you need to select FT Pro in the preferances. Basically, you have to tell the software what to record and when. Pretty easy really.
