Barista Coffee Expresso machine

I purchased this machine 5 years ago. It has been working fine up until a few months ago when the steamer spout started spitting water. It is getting worse. I have not tried to fix this problem. I have inquired at a local small appliance repair shop about fixing this but they need to know who made the machine. Can you help? Thank you.

Steamer spout leaks a steady stream of water when the dial is in off position & while espresso is being made. Have to keep something under it or water all over the place.

The actual steaming process seems to work fine.

Yea, that happens to me. Try this way....Turn on the Barista, wait til the the steam's green light, then push the steamer button on, wait for a good 1 minute. It should be blowing hot air by then. Good Luck

When I just have water in the portafilter it runs through fine. When I put the expresso in it clogs and expresso will not flow through.

No solution here. Utopia directions say to only use MEDIUM (drip) grind. Ain't it awful? I prefer ultra fine grind, frankly muddy coffee.Deb

First, if water comes out of the wand while you are brewing coffee then the valve has a problem, it might need to be replaced or the pressure buildup is forcing water through. Remove the shower screen and screw in the head and clean, then descale the machine using Scalekleen, vinegar is no the best thing for descaling the machine.

My Starbucks Grand Barrista 12 cup coffee maker stopped working.

from what i can see they have pumpo issues..... try your warranty although i guess that'd be long gone after your many "years" of ownership.... anyway, get an expresso machine, they produce much better coffee by far :) Goodluck, CHA55Y....

Briel espresso machine

Try opening the frothing valve by turning the dial and force water through it instead of steam by pressing the middle, coffee button. You may be experiencing vapor lock. Once the water comes through the steamer valve, turn the steamer knob off and release the coffee button. Then try the steamer button with the steamer dial open. This may do the trick.
