How to run safe mode

Suggest restarting computer in safe-mode and run anti-virus or malware removal tool from there first. If running windows vista/xp/7/8/10 when you restart computer press f8 rapidly until your pc is in safe mode and then follow the prompts.

The FBI "virus" is one of the most malicios malwares around, because it actually encrypts tour data files to blackmail you and they say, you may never get the decryption code, even if you pay.
Actually there are several version of this scam procedure and you should try to identify which one got in your computer, to neutralize and if possible, to get rid of it's effects.

You may follow the below steps to remove FBI virus:

(1)Restart the computer in Safe mode with networking (F8 at startup).
(2)Once the computer boots to windows open regedit (Press windows +R key).
(3)Then go this path "HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows NT/Currentversion/Winlogon"
(4)Delete the last Entry.
(5)Then Run the regular Virus Scan.

Note: You will need to delete all entries below ParseAutoexec (donot delete this).

Not quite sure what you mean by how do i remove do searches ?

There are two possiblities



Oneyour old anti-virus setting is not remove from your PC.

Install crap cleaner (ccleaner) to get rid of the anti-viruses left over setting in the windows registry.

Two - a virus is preventing you from installing anti-virus

Use another clean PC to download Clamwin portable anti-virus and install it on a USB pen drive.

Start Clamwin anti-virus and update the latest anti-virus definition files.

Select the tools menu bar, set the preferences to remove virus.

Start the infected PC in safe mode by pressing F8 during start up.

If you have tried all the various AV Removal Tools to look for expired/leftover remnants of other AVs, I\'d suggest scanning your System for Malware.



Malware will often stop you downloading Security Products.

Download, install, update and scan with each of the two programs below to check for/remove Malware/spyware.

If necessary, do all the above work in Safe Mode with Networking.



To get into Safe Mode with Networking, tap F8 right at Power On / Startup, and use UP arrow key to get to Safe Mode with Networking from list of options, then hit ENTER.

Then SCAN with it.

Update it, and scan your System once a fortnight.

When it is starting up at the Splash Screen(windows logo screen) hold the power button in to shut it off this should bring up the menu to open in safe mode. Might take a couple trys.

There is an AVG removal tool here.

I would suggest MalwareBytes to remove viruses.

1) Get ready Portable Trojan Remover software. Download it from the Net. Keep pressing F8 button as start you computer to go into Safe Mode. When u r in safe mode, run Trojan Remover to remove malware and remove any system restrictions by the virus. Restart to see if you have completely solve your problem. Update your anti virus or have antispyware installed and scan your computer.

Run your PC in safe mode with networking prompt as an administrator(because in normal mode the virus will not allow/let you to run a setup file if it's a dangerous virus).Install strong anti-virus like Kaspersky, NOD32 etc. registered version. Update the anti-virus in safe mode and also run.
