My stereo shows an error 13 when I try to play my usb. Does anyone know what the problem might be.
For those with the VRCD400-SDU, not exactly a solution, but the manual states that . . .
"Error Code 13 = Defective USB / SD Card Reader"
This most likely means your USB and SD card days are over until you can get this replaced. I would call VR3 (1-800-445-1797) their customer support is usually great, however if your warranty is up they might not have the answer your looking for.
I just purchased this unit and installed it yesterday, so far so good (except it won't read my SDHC cards). I'm going to keep my fingers crossed and try to minimize switching SD cards. Of course for the $50 I spent on it I can't complain.

Hi, i got the same problem with an error 13 code when i insert sd card in my vrcd400 sdu unit. Worked fine for 3 months but i recently removed card to edit play list and when i plugged card back in, i get error 13 code. Tried other sd cards and get same error. Tried the reset button. No luck. Anyone find a solution yet??

I have just installed a mt1105usb head unit into my fiat punto, radio and cd player works, but when i plug in usb or mp3 player or a sd card into the slot all i get is error 13.

got a new VRCD500-SDU stereo. bought the plug in for the wires and all, adapter for the antanta every thing works great, lights up looks great but NO SOUND... whats up with that any great would be appreciated. Barbie

Same problem with usb, on a car stereo, not amp, worked fine for awhile. Then I would randomly get the error. New batteries in device seemed to help once, but then it started up again and even new batteries didn't help. Now happens all the time. The funny thing is that I was using a battery powered mp3 player, finally got an iPod and it gives the error 13 and won't play music, but it will charge it.

Erro 13 on VRCD500-SDU can be fixed. The causes are:
1. Not a proper formating of SD card and USB flash memory. Make sure that their formating is FAT or FAT32 ( see owners manual).
2. Dirty contats inside the USB and SD sockets. Just open the radio it's easy and carefully clean with a brush and alcohol.
