Starmate 4 Worked fine in my Boombox. Then when I wanted to "temporarily" install it in my car (no aux input on front of radio) I plugged it in,hit the FM Preset button but couldn't find a blank station where other nearby stations wouldn't wash over -- I kept trying other FM "blank" stations and added (because I live in Canada) the little FM broadcast antenna included with the radio. Then the unit stopped looking for satellites or giving me the Sirius channel it was on and reverted to the Sirius Satellite Radio screen with the little dog icon -- this screen image flashes every now and then but the unit won't go past this screen in my car or, now, in the Sirius Boombox. Is there a way to reset this or? Could it still be trying to broadcast in FM even though it's now in the Boombox - If so, how do I fix this? Thanks
I have had 5 of theese radios (all referb) and they have all had some sort of problem. I opened one of them up and it was full of dried soda. the last one I got was brand new and when I opened it up I quickly$ noticed that the heat sink was missing. How do you forget to install the heat sink? Anyway, cal sirius and ask to be conected to the cancellations dept. once there tell them that you would rather cancel then purchase a new radio unless they can help you. Often times they will offer you a cheap radio for free. Then it is just a matter of talking them up to the radio that you want.
My Starmate ST1 isdoing the same. I bing it back and forth from my personal car & work truck daily for the last 1 1/2 years. and yesterday I got the sirius screen a couple fo times, but came back on. Now today all I get is the sirius screen. Called sirius and they said the radio is broke ( NO KIDDING ) and I had to buy a new one. Looking for a new one now........
I to am having this problem.. It just started acting up today. I have it installed in a car, nothing has changed in the configuration, just left it overnight, and now it will not turn on.. Maybe this will add some insight into your issue.

I'm having the same exact problem with my starmate 2 receiver. Called Sirius and they were useless. Anyone have a fix??? The receiver is stucl on the Sirius logo that you get on start-up... broadcast a blank signal (no sound) but occupies the frequency. Never dropped it or anything of the sort, just noticed that since I've had the receiver that it heats up a lot, but never caused an issue before. Thanks
My Starmate 4 is doing the same. Started when I tried to connect it to a brand new plug and play home kit. Before the problem began, I was having problems with my 12V plug in adapter, causing the radio to keep powering down and back up again. Maybe it didn't like the glitchy power. Anyway, I can't find any help anywhere.
Here is an annoying note: I called Sirius, pressed 1 for English, heard the warning the call might be recorded, then..."Your call can not be completed as dialed." Apparently, Sirius is forwarding the calls to a bad number. Nice!
Same problem ... any solution yet?
im having the exact same problem on my starmate replay, it was fine in my work truck, i moved it to my personal vehicle for the ride home, like ive done every day for the last 3 years, and it just stopped working...just shows the sirius logo, and blinks on and off every couple of seconds...sirius was also helpless to me, until i said i wanted to buy a new radio of course...
Same problem..gets stuck on the Sirius Dog Screen. Was working fine yesterday.
