You have given no make, model or network and country details, so my answer can only generalise.

On mobile networks usually you'll only get that message if the caller has withheld their number. On landline networks you often have to enable caller ID via the phone company; some supply the data free, others make a small monthly charge which they'll usually waive if you seriously threaten to switch to another supplier.

If you're on a mobile network and never receive caller ID data and if your phone is not a super-basic model which is unable to display such details, then you need to check with your network operator as it could be a fault with their network or even with your local cell mast.

This are the nokia secret tricks:
I have included the trick to restore factory settings and this can reset the whole settings for giant problems.
To check the phones Software revision for Nokia Mobile.
On the main screen type *#0000#

To enter in the secret menu in Nokia Phone.
On the main screen type *#92702689# [*#war0anty#]
It will take you to a secret menu where you may find some of the information below:
1. Displays Serial Number.
2. Displays the Month and Year of Manufacture
3. Displays (if there) the date where the phone was purchased (MMYY)
4. Displays the date of the last repair - if found (0000)
5. Shows life timer of phone (time passes since last start)

Dial *#7370# now it will ask restore original device settings,yes,it will ask for password its-12345, your phone will restart, all the data on our phone memory will be deleted,and it will be like when you first bought it.

But i don't think so that gonna help you out that much. It seem to be issue with the network. Try using some other Mobile service provider. See if problem still remain their on your mobile.

These kind of error message comes when you have WEAK NETWORK.
