MTP DB Mismatch Format? Please Delete More Than 4.0 MB

I got my sansa c150 to work once. Now it comes up with an error message "MTP DB Mismatch Format? Please Delte More Than 4.0 MB. I know a decent amount about computers, but I can't get this to work. I know DB stands for database and MB stands for megabyte. I tried formating the player, but it said "Windows cannot complete the format." I tried using three different media players to get it to work, but nothing is working. I tried to have windows scan the disk for errors, but it says windows cannot complete this action. I tried to have it recover bad sectors, but that won't work either. I tried running it in FAT instead of FAT 32, but that won't work. PLEASE HELP ASAP!!!

I am unable to restore device to working condition.

Most reliable way to clear the device is to use the firmware update utility.

Sandisk m230 MTP DB mismatch...

Here is a link to get the manual:

http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1304

On page 30-31 it explains how to RESET the unit to the factory defaults. If nothing else, I believe that will clear your DB Error.

Sansa C150 No Space for DB. Please free more than 4.0 MB

are you able to format the player while in msc mode?

right-click on it while in my computer and select the format option, make sure your selecting your mp3 as this will delete all the files off the device. It if says failed to format, try doing it thorugh disk management. To get there you can right-click on my computer and select manage from the drop down menu. From here you will see disk management on the left hand side. Then a larger rectangular box with the drive letter that represents your player, you can right click on this and select format.

Or just try a different computer, if its the same everywhere then youll probably have to end up emailing sandisk, stating everything you tried. They will probably ask you to do a couple more things, but if you keep at it, youll end up with an RMA*.

"MTP DB Mismatch Format?"

The Insignia NS-DA2G needs to be placed in File & Folder mode, and you'll need to have your mac show you all files on the device. Macs will create a smaller file that starts with "._" that contain very little information, but can cause problems with Windows based or Windows preferred devices. These files are not ignored by the PC or certain Windows optomized devices. You should erase these files for the unit to perform normally.

If you are unable to delete these files, you can re-format the device to FAT-32 and that will erase all information on the device. You shouls also hit the reset button (located next to the "HOLD" switch) for about 5-10 seconds to clear the internal settings.

"MTP DB Mismatch Format?"

I had the same problem In My Sandisk Sansa, and the way I fixed it is the following: Plug your player in your computer in MSC mode (On your player, go to settings, then USB and choose MSC) Then in "my computer", right-click on the player icon and go to "properties". In "properties" go to "tools" and in the first option, which is "error checking", click on "check now". In check disk options, check both "automatically fix file system errors" and "Scan for and attempt recorevy of ba sectors". It's going to take a few minutes (phase 1 and phase 2 will be displayed). Wait until it is complete. When it is done, close the "properties" window and right-click on the icon of the player and click on "format"! It should say format complete and the player should be then be ready to synchronize files again! Now Enjoy That Good luck!! From:-Javed(Taj)

If you've already cleared all the songs, might as well update the firmware (that solves most issues).
