Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard

press-down on the power on/off button for 20 seconds. that should force it to turn it off. however, should that fail, you can use small screwdriver to remove the four screws on the back... then lift-out the battery, and then put battery back in place.
My mp3 player wont turn on after I put it into my back pack on my way home from school. My battery is charged good and stillwont turn on. Do you know whats going on with it?
This happens to me on my Lyra MP3 player when my battery is low. If you have a fresh AAA battery in it, and it is in the right way and your lock on the back of your Lyra is OFF, and you still only get a blink, then you have a defective unit. Return it to RCA and get another one.
