The error is an indication a motor speed problem. You will need to check the following:

- Check the wiring harness. Verify all connections between the Drive Motor, Motor Control Unit (MCU), and Central Control Unit (CCU).

NOTE: The MCU is a circuit board located in the vicinity of the Drive Motor on the bottom rear of the washer. To access the MCU, you will need to remove the back panel of the washer.

NOTE: The CCU is the main computer for the washer and is located behind the wash tub. You will need to remove the top panel to access the CCU. This is accomplished by removing the three screws in the back of the washer that hold the top in place. Once the screws are removed, the top panel will slide back, then lift off.

- Check the Drive Motor. Perform a continuity check of the Drive Motor windings. Remove the connector plug and check across pins 1 to 2, 2 to 3, and 1 to 3. All readings should be approximately 6 ohms. HINT: You can also take this reading by removing connector 2 from the MCU and measuring across pins 1, 2 and 3. If the readings are good, this will also prove the wiring and connector good.

- Check the MCU. The connectors are numbered 1 to 3 (L to R). That is, with the MCU installed, connector 1 is on the bottom, followed by 2 in the middle, and 3 on top.

Connector 1 - is the serial communications link between the MCU and CCU and has three wires. At the opposite end, this will be the 2nd connector from the rear on the left-hand side of the CCU.
Connector 2 - is the link between the MCU and the Drive Motor. Pins 1, 2, and 3 on this connector are the Drive Motor windings. Pins 4 and 5 are for the tachometer.
Connector 3 – is the primary power connector. Pins 1 to 2 should read 120VAC with the door in the locked position. Pin 3 is ground. At the opposite end, this is the 4th connector from the right on the front of the CCU.

NOTE: All the connector pins are numbered R to L.

If your continuity readings are normal for the Drive Motor and you have verified all connectors, replace the MCU.

If any of the Drive Motor windings indicate readings higher that 6 ohms, replace the Drive Motor.

Kenmore Front Load Washer won't complete cycle F06

Have you cleaned your machine lately? They make an in wash boost- it gets rid of the extra suds built up inside the machine that you cant see but your machine detects it and causes faults such as that. Also, there is a small wire on the control board that may need replaced if it keeps kicking the error code.

Code 06

In the manual for a Kenmore washer the instruction for an F06 code (electrical problem) is :

Select PAUSE/CANCEL twice to cancel the cycle. Select DRAIN/SPIN if there is excessive water in the washer. Re-select cycle and press START.

After that, you might try unplugging then plugging it in again.

My kenmore Elite HE3t Giving a code F 06

"F06" is a Motor Speed error code. This is an indication that there is a problem with the Drive Motor, Tachometer, Motor Control Unit (MCU), Central Control Unit (CCU) and/or interconnecting wiring between the all these components. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r714929-f06_error_whirlpool_duet_kenmore_elite

I would begin by checking all the connector plugs between the CCU, MCU and Drive Motor to ensure none of them are loose or have corroded contacts.

Read through the link and follow the steps provided. If you have questions, please let me know. I hope this helps.

NOTE: The majority of the time this failure is attributed to a bad tachometer which is located on the MCU. If defective, the MCU must be replaced. There is a technical data sheet that comes with the washer. It is located inside the washer behind the lower toe panel directly below the door. The panel comes off by removing the screws located under bottom front edge of the panel. With the screws removed, the panel will drop down, then come off. If the tech sheet is not located directly behind the panel, it will be affixed to one of the interior cabinet walls. Included are all the diagnostics and troubleshooting advice for your washer, including diagrams to show test points. HINT: For better access to the screws you can prop the two front feet of the washer up using a 2 x 4.

Read through the link provided and let me know if you have questions. In most cases this problem is attributed to a tachometer failure on the Motor Control Unit (MCU). If the this is the case, the MCU must be replaced.

Kenmore HE4 Front Load Washer - F06 Code

"F06" is a Motor Speed error code. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r714929-f06_error_whirlpool_duet_kenmore_elite

First of all, with any error code you get on these washers, they can be erroneous. Unplug the unit for AT LEAST 30 minutes, first, in an attempt to reset the Central Control Unit (CCU). If the error code returns following a reset, then you have a genuine problem.

Double check all your wiring harness connections to the Drive Motor and Motor Control Unit (MCU), next. Sometimes these connectors can either vibrate loose, or develop some corrosion. Inspect them and clean if necessary. Double check the continuity of the harness wiring from the MCU to the Drive Motor.

Check the resistance of the motor windings. Instructions provided in the link.

Verify the proper voltage readings at the MCU.

There should be a tech sheet affixed to the inside of the washer cabinet that lists all the components and what all your measurements should read. To acccess all the components for troubleshooting, remove the back panel of the washer.

If you have problems or require additional assistance, please let me know. I hope this helps you.
