Epson r300 printer

My epson r300 shows "General Roor See printer documentation for information about clearing the error" I have tried this and also the Epson web site there is no information available

    Havnt used the printer in 6 months, used it for first time yeaterday and general error see printer documentation comes up, why?

    Tried the "Power/Stop/Ink" turn on procedure, got this -
    "CLEAR WASTE INK CTR"
    "FINISHED"
    "TURN OFF"
    "PRINTER POWER"

    This did NOT fix the problem. Next power up give the same old "General Error...."

Step1..............switch on
step2............press+hold stop,ink,power buttons untill printer switches self of
step3............switch back on and problems should have gone

step1..............switch on
step2............unplug the printer cable step3............ press+ (hold stop,ink,power) buttons until general error message appeared on screen "CLEAR WASTE INK CTR"
"FINISHED"
"TURN OFF"
"PRINTER POWER"
step3............plug in the printer cable step4............switch back on and problems should have gone.... :)) GOODLUCK!!!!!!!!

This is usually fatal. You can try dismantling the machine and checking all the sensor flags are intact etc, but it often boils down to a ruined main board.

Bin it and buy and buy a HP!!

Printer, epson stylus R300 has the "General error" message. How can i reset the printer so i can continue to print
I'm sorry but I read over the manual and couldn't find a 'general error' message listed. Nor, could I find a way to reset the printer so it could print.

The documentation for the epson printer is rather detailed though, and it is possible I missed it somewhere, but I would try the above link for more leads that may lead to a solution.

Error Service required
Epson programmed their printer to monitor the waste ink counter andyour printer has reached the maximum value allowed, you have to resetyour printer to clear the waste ink counter.

To reset the counter, download re-setter program here, install and follow the instruction in the web site.

Hi i have turned my printer on and on the control panel it says general error see your printers documentation on clearing the error but it dosent say how to clear a general error
First see if their is a newer driver available, then  Reinstall your printer and software. This is the printer model I am presently using. If this doesn't cure the problem write back, ok?
