I just replaced the engine in my 2003 landrover freelander it was started by original owner and i finished the job there are 2 vaccuum lines ( the kickdown line and line on transfer case ) that i can not locate the hookups there is also what seems to be a speed sensor or trans sensor that has no hookup now the car is great in all forward gears and engages reverse but seems to be slipping are there bands in the freelander that may need tightening and if you have a diagram for the vaccum lines and sensors on the tranny i would be greatly appreciative

It's definitely cheaper to buy a trans from a wrecking yard than to have yours rebuilt. Before you do anything though. Did you make sure that the trans fluid level is full? I know this may be a stupid question, but I had to ask. The speed sensors job is to tell the speedometer how fast you're going...not related to your problem.
I have a 2000 Honda Accord EX, it shifts normal on forward with no problem. Also when the car is cold the reverse gear works just fine, but when the car runs for about few minutes the reverse gear will not work. It will seem as if it wants to go but then if feels like its neutral.

There are to many things that can cause this problem, best thing to is go get the ECM scanned for DTC codes at a transmission shop or Auto zone or Parts Source since they scan for free.
The ECM should have DTC code in it's memory on how the transmission is Performing and have the Transmission line tested for Fluid pressure.
Good luck and hope this helps. Oh and also ways check with more then on transmission shop if there tell you that you need a new Transmission,
It could be a simple as the transmission filter falling off causing the lost of transmission fluid pressure. Check the transmission fluid too.

yep, sounds like your transmissions on its last leg, mabye you can get by, by starting in 2nd, if you have the option lol, but auto tran's are pretty cheap on ebay or try www.supraforums.com seen one for 300$

Your computer is reverting (when you pull the fuse) to a pre-programmed mode that is meant to simply run your car without the input from various sensors. I would make sure that the sensor I replaced was the correct one for the model and engine. Beyond that there are a number of items that would affect the way your car runs, but not many that affect the way the transmission shifts. Is your D4 light blinking at all? If so, that means there is a transmission problem.
I hope this is of a little help.
