Where is "set" button on the remote so I can set DVD code?

Question edited for clarity and 'ECA' to 'RCA'.

Better to buy a Remote made for that television. No programming and same buttons as the old one.

Manually:

To enter the code into the remote, turn on the device you want to add. Point the remote control at the device and hold the "Code Search" button until the LED light is solid red. Press the button for the device you want to set, such as "TV" or "DVD." The light will blink once and then stay solid red. Use the number buttons on the remote to enter the first code associated with your device. Once the code is inserted, the LED light will turn off. Point the remote at the device and press the "On/Off" button. If the device turns off, the code is correct. If the device does not turn off, repeat the preceding steps using the next code on the list.

No Code:

To use the code search, turn on the device you want to set. Point the remote at the device and hold the "Code Search" button until the LED is solid red. Press the corresponding button for the device you wish to set, such as "TV" or "DVD." With the remote pointed at the device, repeatedly press the "On/Off" button. Continue to do this until the device powers off. When it shuts off, press the "Enter" button to set the remote control. Use the "On/Off" button and see if the device turns on again. If it does, the setting is complete. If it does not, attempt the code search again and be sure to press the "Enter" button quickly when the device turns off.

i have an Auvio 15-305, so this might help. Manual Code Search.
1) Power on the device that you want to control. For VCR and DVD players, you must insert a tape or disc first.

2) Press and hold SET, then press (TV, VCR/DVD, AUD, DVR,SAT/CBL, AUX) at the same time on the remote. The LED will stay lit indicating it is on setup mode. NOTE: DO NOT HOLD DOWN THE KEYS MORE THAN 3 SECONDS OR THE REMOTE ENTERS AUTO SEARCH MODE.

3) Press POWER on the remote. The remote enters a manual code search mode, the LED will start flashing.

4) Press POWER on the remote continuously until the device turns off.

5) When it turns off, turn on the device manually. then try pressing the other buttons on the remote except for the POWER, SET, and DEVICE keys.
If most of the buttons work then press the selected DEVICE key that you selected in Step 2.

2.Press the "Code Set" button on your Hitachi remote. The button is often located near the top with the separate component buttons.

3.Press the button for the component you wish to program with the Hitachi Remote(TV,DVD).

4.Enter the manufacturer's code for the component being programmed. The manufacturer's code can be found either in the Hitachi manual, the manual for the component being programmed or on the website of the manufacturer of the product.

5.Press the "Enter" button to submit the manufacturer's code.

6.Press the power button for the component being programmed. Make sure the remote is pointed at the correct component, and it should turn on if the program was entered correctly

Unfortunately, your remote control predates TV/DVD combos and as such the manual does not list a code for a Sylvania TV/DVD combos.

To make this control work with a TV/VCR combo, one would enter 0054 for the TV controls and 0081 for the VCR controls. May I suggest you try the following codes for the TV: 0054, 0030, 0096, 0020, 0381. If these codes do not work, try running through the auto-code search.

The manual for the URC-4330 does not list any Sylvania DVD codes at all, so I recommend running through the auto-code search. Here are the steps:

1. On the remote control, press DVD once.
2. Press and hold SET until the LED blinks twice, then release SET.
3. Enter 9 - 9 - 1.The LED will blink twice.
4. Aim the remote control at the the DVD and slowly alternate between pressing POWER and DVD. Stop when the DVD turns off.
5. To lock in the code, press and hold SET until the LED blinks twice, then release SET.

Magnavox VCR codes are 007, 011, 028, 032, 059
Magnavox DVD code is listed as 001 only.

Manually turn on the device. Press and hold the SET button then press and release the VCR button, then release the SET button. Enter a three digit code then press power. If it does not turn off the device, try the next one.

You might also try the 'code search' if none of the above codes work. Press and hold SET then VCR and release both. Then Press and release the SET button again. The indicator light should begin blinking. Press and release the POWER button until your device turns off. You may have to go through up to 200 different codes until it turns off. Once the device does turn off, press the VCR button again to store the code.

this is a generic answer that applies to many multi unit remotes

Many remotes have to be trained. the user manual contains a list of code series that identify to the remote what equipment the remote is intended to control. changing batteries may erase the prom that this information is recorded in.
From either the printed manual or by looking up the manufacturers web site from descriptive labels on or in the remote, you can determine the (usually) 3 digit code for your tv dvd video audio units and the button that begins programming mode sop that you can press the unit button, enter the code, press the button to confirm. and be done

My specific remote requires

Hold [menu] untill the red lamp flashes 3 times
press [dvd]
enter the code on the number pad
press [dvd]
press [tv]
enter the code on the number pad
press [tv]
press [vcr]
enter the code on the number pad
press [vcr]
press [audio]
enter the code on the number pad
press [audio]
press [aux]
enter the code on the number pad
press [aux]
press [menu]

thankfully the remote recharges on the dvd player, and I only did that once

Here's how I got mine to work. FIRST THING: Once it's programmed, you use the TV function keys at the bottom of the remote for Power On, channel changing, etc. The other keys on the remote don't operate the TV.

1) Press the "code set" button with a pen or straightened paper clip
2) Press the [A] key (next to "V-AUX")
3) Enter the code

Test it by pressing the Power key in the TV section on the remote (NOT the "Source" Power" key or Main power key at the top).
