Most taps for bathrooms have replaceable spigots and handles of various design that suit the shaft. I would be talking with a plumber as to what you have and as to why any spigot assy will not fit. Even if you have ceramic inserts they still fit the tap proper.

SOURCE: 1 HANDLE TUB/SHOWER. WHEN YOU TURN THE SHOWER ON

The diverter is worn and needs to be replaced.

The diverter is the lever/button you pull/push to switch from shower to tub. When they get worn, they require more pressure to seal properly and divert the flow.

SOURCE: I have a Moen shower tub single handle from the

I took the parts to the Menards in town. Luckily I found the guy that knows it all! He showed me the rubber gasket( that holds the ball) to purchase as well as recommended that the 2 small rubber gaskets that were in there to be replaced as well while I had it open to avoid doing this in the future. I got home and replaced them and no leaks:) Thanks:)

SOURCE: moen one handle tub & shower is leaking from spigit

A stem is a cartridge in a real old valve. You have pulled retainer clip, you can try to pull it out with pliers, but you might need a moen cartrigde puller.

SOURCE: replaced shower valve. still drips from tub spout

The cartridge has 2 or 3 o-ring type seals around it that feed the water through, it picks up both hot and cold and mixes them. Some cartridges are replaced as one, some you have to replace the seals, just take the faucet info to the hardware store and match it up. I think the diverter is for the shower. It sends the water up instead of out.

My pfister shower cold water faucet handle broke off. The stem is stuck so I can't replace the faucet handle. How do I remove this stuck portion of the old handle?

the model is needed for a step by step but. if your faucet is for a sink and not a shower then the handles may be connected to the pour spout or separate depending on model and in either case there is a nut screwed under the fixture that hold it in place. do not unscrew any of the faucet until you have turned of the water running to it.

Molded walls in bathroom

The first thing you need to do before you get sick is to get all the mold and everything else that is wet rusty and old out of there because you don't need any of that. The second thing you have to do is get rid of all the the shell and the old tub and everything else thats that old. you have to start from scratch and make sure all your mold is gone before you even move in the new stuff. This is going to cost you a pretty penny as between 1,000 to 2,000 to start with and who knows with a old house if you don't run into something else. Good Luck.

Nice.
Paying that price for your shower faucet, I would think the supply house would work with you on that. eBay shows cross handles so they are available.
The plumbing supply store should be able to order what you want.

I have black particles coming from my bathroom tub spigot, what could it be?

Sounds like washer pieces. Your faucet has rubber parts and they can eventually fail, Look also at the shut off valves, as they break apart (the washers) eventually.

Have hot water in the bathroom sink spigot, but the shower is the single handle and turned on all the way, water is not hot...too much cold mixing, How do you adjust it?

You need to take the handle off...ususally held on with a small allen screw on the bottom side of the handle. After removing the handle there should be a dial setting.

How to adjust temp control for sigle lever shower control

Temp control is only accomplished by moving handle to desired position. If your asking is the hardware that in behind the single lever going to allow for adjustments, then the answer is NO. I installed the same into one of my bathrooms several years ago and I know what I am talking about. The single handle on that type on mine starts off then cold to hot. Problem is I wait for hot water to max so I can adjust it down to a comfortable temperture to prevent being burned. I refuse to buy one for other tubs. The 2 handles make temperture much easier with less wasted water used until its hot. Remember if you decide to replace with a two lever model then you will have to replumb the pipes for a two handle hardware unit (thats the stuff behind wall that your single handle goes into to which is currently plumbed for a single handle hardware unit.)
