Kenwood DP-J2070 100 CD Changer Diagram / Repair Help

Dear Sirs! Kenwood DP-J2070 100 CD changer contains a small board named B/3. It is sized 1cm*2,5 cm and it contains a fork light barrier which is used to position the drive correctly in front of the CD's. As this board is broken into parts I gotta repair it. The Problem is that the 3 wires connecting the board to the unit have been removed before having marked them. Now I do not know how to solder what wire to which port. The B/3 contains 3 ports printed with -V, C and E. The drive offers 3 wires: 1 blue, 2 black. Please, can anyone help me how to connect the wires to the board? If someone had this player, he could easily find out to what port the blue wire is connected. To find out about the black wires it should be possible to measure voltage of both cables. It might also be very helpfull if someone has got a diagram of the unit. Thank you very much!

    Addendum:

The B/3 board is directly visible if you remove the front cover of the player. It is located at the lower left side of the moving player unit. Only a fork light barrier is assembled onto it.

    Solved:

Rohm 574 photointerruptor ist assembled onto the B3 board.
    Connections are:
    V- to pin 1 and 3
    C to pin 4
    E to pin2

Blue wire measures 4,85V against first black wire. Mark this wire.
Blue wire measures 0V against second unmarked black wire.
Marked black wire measures 0V agains unmarked black wire.

    Connect:
    V- to blue
    C to unmarked black
    E to marked black.

    That's ist....

I have a kenwood head unit with 12 pin for a cd changer, I have connected a kenwood cd changer when I press the cd changer source on my head unit it's coming up aux ext but no changer options

It sounds like you're having trouble connecting your Kenwood CD changer to your head unit. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:
  1. Check the connections: Ensure that all the wiring connections are secure and properly connected to the head unit and CD changer.
  2. Reset the head unit: Disconnect the power to the head unit, wait a few minutes, and then reconnect it to see if the issue is resolved.
  3. Check the compatibility: Make sure that the CD changer you have connected is compatible with your head unit and the 12 pin interface.
  4. Update software: If your head unit has firmware or software updates available, it may be worth updating to see if the issue is resolved.
  5. Contact the manufacturer: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, it may be best to contact Kenwood's technical support for further assistance.
It's important to handle the head unit and CD changer carefully to avoid causing further damage or issues. If you are not familiar with the installation and connectivity of a CD changer, it may be best to seek help from a professional for a repair.

My Kenwood DP-j1070 100 changer is finding cds but not playing anything - there seems to be a spring loose on the loading arm - and not quite sure how to repair - thinking this may be the source of the...

The piece of plastic that held the spring in place probably broke off like mine did. I repaired it by drilling a small hole under the bottom of the slot in the arm and connected it with a piece of solid wire.

I have a kenwood dp-r99 cd player and the cd is stuck inside with an ee message. How do I open the CD player?

6 or 7 phillips head screws. 2 or 3 across the back and two on each side. Slide the top towards the back then up. You will be able to get to all CD's with the top off. Hope this helps

Kenwood DP-J1070

I have been experiencing the same problem all of a sudden. Almost like it doesn't recognize that there is any information on the disc(s), regardless of whether it is a CD-R or Original disc. As I looked closer, I saw there is also a small spring connected at the top on the swing arm that pulls the CD in (behind disc indicator light) but it is not connected to anything at the other end of the spring. Just hanging there...I've never noticed it before.

1) Have you found a solution to get your CDs to play?
2) Does anyone have a clue what the other end of this spring is supposed to connect to? Or know where I can find a detailed diagram of the pieces on this part of the device?

Thanks!

Hi the kenwood changers suffer from jamming up, and dry joints on the socket. try wiggleing the large socket/cable on the cd changer. otherwise you will need to take it for repair. if you would like to have it repaired, please see www.carradiospares.co.uk
