I have olympus digital voice recoder vn . 480 oc and windows vista, not working, not transfer and not identifiquet the olympus digital... in the list of CD windows vista is out I need of sofware for windows vista I also have an Olympus VN-480PC Digital Voice Recorder that won't install in Vista on a new Dell Studio XP13. I followed all the steps outline above, twice, to no avail. Vista cannot find drivers to install whether on the internet, from the CD, or if I point to the driver and update I've already installed. Nothing seems to work! Is there any hope??

Probably a bit late but I got my Olympus VN-960PC Digital Voice Recorder to work on my MacBook Pro running Win7 with Bootcamp by using this site and DL's from there....

the voice recorder should work instantly when plugged into the mac, it should show up as a removable stroage device, or a removable drive, like any other external hard drive or usb stick would on a mac.

you don't need a driver to transfer or listen to the recordings from the recorder on a mac.

yes, it is possible. You will connect the earphone jack from your voice recorder to Mic of your laptop. Then you will be needing a wave software on your laptop, download the wave software from the internet, open the wave file, then press play on your voice recorder and the minutes will be recorded into your laptop as a wave files.

But the easiest method of tranferring the minutes is by using the usb cable of your OLYMPUS VN-480 PC voice recorder. If you don't have it you can purchase it, then connect it from your OLYMPUS VN-480 PC voice recorder to the usb of your computer and it will be read like a flash drive.

After that, go to my computer and you will see a drive representing the OLYMPUS VN-480 PC voice recorder, open the drive and you will see your minutes, then simply create a folder on your computer, and copy, paste the minutes into the created folder. And the would be all.

The VN-480PC is compatable with Vista 32 Bit systems but NOT 64 Bit systems.

There are many steps in installing Digital Wave Player on VISTA, it is important to follow every step since installing Digital Wave Player on VISTA is dependent on this process.
Install a VN recorder on VISTA

1. Make sure the device has been uninstalled in device manager
2. Make sure the old version of digital wave player is uninstalled.
{Delete Temp files in Internet Explorer --Tools--Internet Options --Delete Files-- Delete offline content--OK}
3. Install digital wave player (The newest Version).
