I think that machine has one belt that runs everything the deck. If it does you should have a tent ion poorly release it and the belt will slacken up so you can pull the belt off. If the tent ion poorly is not on the deck then it will be under the machine just look for the poorly that puts tent ion on the belt. Let me I know how it goes good luck.

Hi..my name is Keith...and it could be a blown inline fuse or one of the safety switches has failed...and if you troubleshoot these..and everything is fine..write me back and we will dig further into the electricial system

If you leave this mower out in the weather you might have a wet ignition system. Clean battery, dry out switch (contact cleaner), inner locks and ignition parts. Do not jump the fuse to try to start.

I have been told if the parking brake is engaged and you try to drive the mower it will instantly put a burn spot on the belt. I hope this helps.

Swisher 60 deck belt breaks after mowing about 15 minutes.
Even though the routing is correct, have you checked that every spindle and idler pulley turns freely? These bearings can freeze up or bind because debris builds up in them. Also, if the bushings on the idler pulleys can wear, causing them to misalign. Keep checking. Also - is the belt snapping clean, or do you see a burnt, worn spot?

I have an A680L John deere riding lawnmower. The transmission does not seem to engage. It burns the belts.
Burning belts sounds like something is locked up. Make sure there's nothing wrapped around any of the blades and that they turn freely.

Yes It would. The belt doesn't just wear it slackens also. It will probably turn the blades when not under load but as soon at it attempts to cut grass there is not enough grip.
Replace the belts first and it should be fine.
