Most have a Fn key. You push down on it and then look for the "F" keys that have a sun symbol with an up or down arrow. You have to hold the Fn key down when you adjust the brightness with the arrow keys to get it where you want it. If none of this works, you may have to go to the OEM web sight and download a HotKey driver to correct it.
im very sorry about your remote. but i know of one that will work for any thing and easy to program. it is a phillips universal remote with code search. sorry for not helping you in any other way...
Yeah, I've wasted all morning messing with this. My personal outgoing message keeps reverting back to default. I just got off the phone with RCA and here's the fix for that part of the problem. Go into "Configure Out-Going Announcement" (page 23) and then select "personal," This finally made it stay there. The number I called for help is 1-800-511-3180, or 1-866-285-4651. Good luck!
One way is to manually select the missing channel with the numeric keypad, then push "add." There is also an auto program function puts the VCR into a search mode, adding all channels where a good signal is found. Early VCRs (like late '80s or so) did not have this auto mode, but many later ones did. Also, make sure your VCR is set to the "cable" or "CATV" mode not "off-air"
Do you have the VCR manual? If not, recheck your model and see if Panasonic has it online at http://service.us.panasonic.com/OperMan/Default.

I looked at at a manual for a PV-4651, and it showed functions which sounded similiar to what you need. Check pg. 10-12
