This question is in regard to the Norstar M7324. Occasionally clients send us faxes on the regular phone line, rather than the fax line. I'd like to forward these calls to our fax phone number. Any suggestions?
The solution for someone using the administrator phone (receptionist phone) is after discovering you have a fax call, depress the <link> button. Dial the fax number, wait for it to answer, then depress <link> again. This places call 1 with an outside number.
Apparently this is also available if you have a feature button by depressing <feature> <7> <1> instead of <link>. I haven't tried this so don't take my word for it.
This can also be used to forward a caller to an outside line, such as a cell phone. In the manufacturing business, our shop manager is never in the office. I may ask him if this is a viable solution.

Usually answered in minutes!
Yes! I took slagburners' advice and voila!
The only problem is that I had to wait until the second party (the fax machine) answered, then press link again.
Thanks everyone!
I need to transfer a call to an outside number, and I've tried the solution recommended by skitzoidlady with no success. When I answer a call and decide it needs to be tranferred: I press the button, then dial the number, then press the button again...and nothing happens.
Any other ideas?
I do it all the time with my system. dial number and hang up. Lots of time
I'm not sure you'd have enough time to transfer an incoming fax to an external number. Do you have a CICS? They have an analog port (ATA) built-in to the system. A fax or computer fax attached to that port would capture the calls on your regular phone lines.
