Open the lid and take the top off the wringer by holding the bottom and spin the top like your taking a nut off .inside is a clutch that just pops out it is caused by overloading the machine

SOURCE: dripping wet clothes

will be an UNBalanced load, maybe there was not enough clothes in the load so in that case the drum would not be able to distribute the load evenly so gave up on the spin, hence wet stuff!

SOURCE: whirlpool washing - clothes are still dripping wet at end of wash

Hello, sounds like you have a problem with your clutch assembly, tilt the machine back and access it from underneath..if you see oil at the base next to the motor this means your transmission is going bad and the oil has got into the clutch assembly..If this is the case you may as well go buy a new washer now since it is really expensive to replace the clutch and transmission. If however you don't see any evidence of oil underneath your going to need to replace the clutch assembly. If you have mechanical experiance by all means try yourself...if no experiance get a tech in to do it :) thanks for using fixya! Mike

I have a kenmore model 80 type 111 and it wont spin...help

is the water still in the machine?if so check the lid switch, open the lid stick a screw driver in the hole where the strike slides into and put the timer on spin, does it spin when you push down the screw driver,if not lift the screw driver up and push it in,do you hear a clicking sound,if you do then the switch is good,if not the switch is bad,it's a safety, the factory doesn't want the machine to run with the lid up in the spin cycle, let me know what you find, also does the machine agitiate?

I have a Kenmore Ultra II 90 series washing machine (#11092561400) it fills & agitates but wont drain & spin/rinse? Any solutions.

lift the lid up a few inches and close it down a few times,if you don't hear it clicking you have a broken lid switch, also try to stick a pen or something in the hole on the top and see if it spins, let me know what you find

I have The same problem OPEN Lid and works fine

When you lift the lid, did the motor stop? Do you know if it agitates? If the motor runs and there is no agitaion or spin, check the coupler connecting the motor and transmission. If it agitates and does not spin, it could be a basket drive assembly. The lid switch can also affext the spin cycle. Many reasons why it won't spin. These are just ideas to look into.

A loud bang .....like a hammer was thrown in there.

ouch!! can you "lift up " on t he inner drum with a movement of 1 inch or more??? if so sounds as if you needa rear bearing assy. dont know how old machine is, but genearlly if parts not covered its not a worth while repair. will run hundreds of dollars

Drain/Spin won't work unless lid is lifted up

Curdy, it almost sounds like your lid switch is loose or fractured and the lid actuator is not making the switch. Check this out first and post back...Catriver.
