GLER331AS2 BLOWS COLD AIR

My Frigidaire GLER331AS2 stopped drying. The drum turns but only cold air coming out the back. I removed the exhaust tubing and checked inside. The tube is clear of lint and dust. The front lint trap is also clean.

How can I isolate the problem to either the thermostat control or heating element?

My guess is it is the heating element. If it is that, how do I replace it? Going to the laudrymat is getting REALLY OLD.

TIA

Mike

GLER331AS2 BLOWS COLD AIR-Same as my problem. I checked all of the HI-Limit thermostats (Got continuity on all of them). Finally took the drum off - Thats when I saw the broken Heating Element. Took 15 min. to figure out and the part is about $60.00 average online or a parts store. Beats a $320.00 professional repair. Frigidaire AC window unit, model fam185r2a (18,500 BTU) only cools for a few minutes before it cycles off and just fan blows. Then a few min later cool air cycles back on. Is this a thermostat issue?

The window units normally have a sensor thats attached to the front of the indoor coil. This controls the thermostat. I usually pull this sensor away from the coil because it stops cooling before the room is cool. It is attached to the cold coil so it senses the coil temp, not the room temp. You can normally see it when you remove the air filter. Don't break it! It may be a wire or small copper tube

Ac exhaust fan

Yes for dehumidifier, no for heat mode. In dehumidifier mode all the unit does is takes air in, runs it through the evaporator (cold) coil and the back through the condenser (warm) coil discharging dry, slightly warmer air back into the room. In heating mode however if you don't vent the exhaust there will be no heat produced. Warm air will come out the top but cold air will also come out the exhaust (essentially, in heating mode all it does is operates as an air conditioner in reverse. Hope this helps.

My Admiral gas dryer stopped heating up. Model# AOG7005AWW. I have already cleaned all vents. Only cold air blows out of the back tube, cold inside the dryer. Before was taking 2-3 times a cyle to dry for...

Hi

I believe that everything else is fine rather it is the thermal fuse that is located inside the rear panel to the exhaust duct that is bad and should be replaced. If you want you can test this fuse for continuity and if it is bad then it should be replaced, as it cannot be reset. If the fuse is fine then it can be due to the control board that is bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

My everstar blows hot air out the back and cold air in front i want all cold air

this style unit needs an exhaust hose attached to the rearand be placed out the window to exhaust the heat that is removed from the air in the room, you will also have to empty the condensate drain bucket when it gets full.

I need to replace/test the motor can you tell me how to get the durm and motor out. I have taken all the screws out of the back but it will not come off.

Since you have got that far... stop for a moment. Take a few photos of what you are doing, to help you rebuild the unit. You can test the motor without taking it all apart. Does the drum turn, by hand, relatively easily? If so, Good!
Does the drum turn when you start the dryer (I use the cold air setting for these tests)? If so, Good!
When you start the dryer (on cold air) do you hear the sound of the motor, but no drum rotation? If so then it maybe that the motor is good but the belt is broken or has frayed and is slipping; then the belt needs replacement.
Disconnect the dryer exhaust hose.... When you start the dryer (on cold) do you feel any air movment from the exhaust? If so then I think it is just the belt not the motor. If no air movement then it is probably the motor. A replacement motor cost approx. $165.00.

Heater blows cold air

I had the same problem with the heater only working when accellerating. Found the overflow tank pick up tube was kinked. This of course made my coolant level low. So when the cars hot the coolant would push into the overflow, but when the car cooled the kink would prevent it from flowing back to the radiator.
