2 cycle 70 nissian only runs with choke closed
Try this sequence. Pump up the fuel bulb until it gets hard. There should be something equvilent to a fast idle setting, then hold in the primer(electric choke) and finally turn the key and crank. When it tries to start go easy on the electric choke. You may want to see if the electric choke moves freely.

My 2000 90 hp yamaha will not start. I checked the fuel sytem from start to finish. Everything checks out. I installed a new fuel pump last year. Fuel filter fills properly when primer bulb is squeezed. I have spark from the spark plugs.I performed religious preventive maintenance on the motor every year. Serviced lower unit, fogged the motor for winter storage and changed the plugs every year. I'm assuming that if i get a spark that the coils are ok, right?
