The box is missing all its channel line up info

best case sanario in 1/2 hour it will be done downloading it all again. too impatient to wait?

1) turn everything on as if it was working.
2) press power to turn off the cable box only (leave the tv on) and begin pressing ok or select over and over right away. may take a couple tries
3) you see a white screen with black text? select OOB and see if it says good or at least fair
4) select inband and see if it says good or atleast fair
5) if both good or fair wait; else make certain all cables are tight then check again
6) if they are NA or poor or anything of the sort call your cable operator

good luck
get a tivo ;}~

SOURCE: two tvs off Motorola DCH3416

If you have different input options on your TVs, you could run the second TV with the Y, Pb,Pr component outputs along with the analog audio from the STB. However, remember the STB will only support ONE output video format. So both TV will have to be set to the same video format (720p, 1080i, 480p, etc)

SOURCE: how to set a clock on a hd dual tuner dvbr dch3416

The clock should set automatically, synchronized with your cable provider's time. You can't change it, as far as I know. OR does it display the channel number and you want it to display the time? If so, go to your onscreen menu (home), choose setup, choose cable box setup, front LED display: current channel ----> current time.

SOURCE: looking for the meaning of error code on the CED

DUI is actually trying to display DVI on the box (the LED won't display the V and makes it a U). You typically see this error when your connected to your TV through an HDMI cable and the handshake for HDPC is lost. The box thinks your TV doesn't support it and wants you to change your connection. The error should go away once it finds that handshake. If you were using a different input on your TV, maybe a composite or something for a DVD, and then switch back it can get lost. If it doesn't clear right away try shutting everything off and turning it back on by turning on the TV first and then the box.

SOURCE: i received an error 4 code on my comcast supplied

Hi chestmcn. Here's how you reset your device to its defaults:

1. Make sure your receiver is plugged in, that it's connected to your TV, and that your TV is turned on.

2. Turn your receiver OFF, then press MENU on the front panel of the box. You will then see a menu on your TV.

3. Using either the up/down buttons on your remote control or the up/down buttons on the front of your receiver to navigate. Use the right arrow button to view the options for each setting.

4. Arrow down to the setting labeled "Restore All Defaults", then press the right arrow button to select that option.

5. Exit the menu and save your changes by pressing the POWER or MENU button.

For what it's worth, this issue may also be related to Comcast reference code error s0900, which means a disruption in service, usually temporary.

In case you run into more trouble with your receiver, here is a link to the user guide- http://www.motorola.com/staticfiles/Business/Products/TV%20Video%20Distribution/Set-tops/QAM%20Set-tops/All%20Digital%20QAM%20Set-tops/DCH3416/_Documents/Static%20Files/DCH3416_User_Guide_537529-001-c.pdf

I hope this helps. Thanks for using FixYa!

Looking for ir extender / blaster to put motorola dch3416 into closet.

Probably best to go to Best Buy or Fry's or some other electronics solutions store where they can recommend a solution. You may find audio visual online communities discussing this.

TV will not display picture or sound except for 1 station which appears to be 440. I can't change the channel either at the dials or remote. The display says EAS.

DONT USE the remote that came with your TV

use the buttons on the box to change the channel. did the channel change?

usually when someone only has one channel its because they are changing the tv channel not the cable box channel

think of it like this:
the TV is a monitor and should always be on the same channel (3, 4, hdmi, or whatever) its actually the box that tunes and the tv always stays on the same channel.

so if you change the tv channel you are no longer watching the output of the cable box.

USE the remote supplied by your cable provider

Connecting my Humax Series 2 Tivo to a Motorola HD DCH3416 Cable Box

Yes, the Tivo will just record in standard definition, instead of high def.

You can still hook the two up together, though.

What I would suggest (and have done in the past) is this:
Split the cable coming out of the cable box.
Hook one up to your HD cable box, and the other up to the Tivo.
Hook the output of your HD cable box to one HD input on your TV
Hook the output of your Tivo up to a different (non-HD) input on your TV.

This will allow you to watch HD while recording standard definition, and vise versa.

Running the HD through the Tivo will work, but will limit you to not be able to watch HD through it.

Normal Picture Mode Not Available With Cox HD-DVR (Motorola DCH3416) and HDMI Cable

With an HDMI cable connected, the cable box determines the picture size. The settings on the cable box must be changed in order for you to get the correct picture size. I have some experience with Motorola cable boxes; usually to access the settings you turn the box OFF and then press the menu or settings button on the box to bring up the display menu. Hope this helps!
