Question about Husqvarna Viking 1
I've had my Husqvarna Prisma 980 sewing machine for more than 20 years. The decorative stitch cassettes (read-only) used to work, but now the machine won't switch from the default utility stitches to any of the decorative stitch cassettes (B, C, D). Everything appears to be working just fine in the default utility mode. Inserting the decorative stitch cassettes has no effect at all. It seems that either they're dead or the machine has lost the ability to read them. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
On that machine, the cassettes aren't actually computer chips. Each cassette has a little spot of white on a certain little area you must find (top right I'm pretty sure). Look in the machine at that point. There is a sensor that looks for that white spot, and as it identifies it, it changes stitches according to that cassette. Either the sensor is blocked, gone bad, or you can put a fresh coat of white paint on with white out. I hope this helps.
