We're having problems with installation of our eljer whirlpool tub. is the sheet rock supposed to go in back of the lip of the tub? this is an ''alcove'' installation. thanks
Your sheet rock will go to the top of the lip of the tub and then your tile will overlap this lip. If it isn't done right, your grout will crack if you are tiling.

Eljer is owned by Jacuzzi Whirlpool. Very nice tub. Eljer is one of the bigger Bathtub Mfg out there. Not sure why he has not heard of them. Lowes is probably the biggest seller of that brand.
Right hand and left hand refer to where the drain is located to where you are standing in front of the tub. if you are standing in front of the tub and the drain is on your right hand then it is considered a right hand tub.
The tub should just sit on the floor, and caulked around to seal out any water. If it as a fiberglass tub, you might want to put some grout under the bottom to help support it.
i have seen this in the past, a ground fault electrical outlet on the inside of a roman tub,if you have a 2 story house look for access panel on or by tub. otherwise you have to remove tile or other to access motor, you probably need a step too anyways
