My quasar 32 inch tv fell off my bedroom dresser and the cable yanked out the coaxial jack. Now the tuner is messed up and all the cable channels are viewable but very fuzzy. Many years ago I once used the tuner on a vcr that I no longer have to view all the cable channels when the tuner on a different tv was zapped by a lightning surge yielding a staticy picture. (There was no surge protector on it at the time). When viewing the channels with the vcr tuner the problem was solved and the color was even a tad better. In my current situation: I have programmed the cable channels into the dvr but in viewing these channels I see that they are contained in a much smaller box on the screen. Is it possible to use the dvr tuner to view the cable channels on the entire screen like I used to do with an old tv and old vcr?

I don't want to spend the cost of the tv itself on a technician. I can view dvd's perfectly. I want to pull off a tuner trick to solve the cable channels snowiness problem. I want to know if this is possible? To use the tuner from the DVR on the entire tv screen, not just a box within the screen?
