G E fryer. Quit heating up or lighting up. See the word restart on the back next to a hole. How do I reset this?

Use a tooth pick or paper clip (whichever works size wise) and push the little button inside the reset hole.

Hi there. Try cleaning the thermopile, it must be free of soot or any other form of dirt, the pilot flame should be of good quality, as well as the gas pressure.

Deep Frier power indicator light is on but will

Most fryers have what is called a hi limit. When the oil temp reaches a certain Max temp this switch opens the circuit and will not allow the unit to heat. On commercial fryers, the hi limit has a really small red plunger button. Push it in to reset.

Trouble light stays lit and reset button not reseting on one side.

Wells says that a dirty element can cause this. I believe the hi limit is bad. The limit has a capillary tube that breaks very easy. I would inspect this for cracks. Usually right where it connects to the sensing bulb. This is usually the case 99% of the time.

Good luck and hope this helps.

Oil doesn't stay hot

check the thermostat bulb that's in the oil. make sure there are no kinks in the tubing as there is a gas inside the cappillary that expands when it is heated. it connects to the thermostat inside the unit. the thermostat has a thin diaphragm inside that presses against a switch to turn the elements on and off.
