Volume won't work in satelite mode

I have a Hitachi 51 projection TV. I have DVD and PS2 hooked up to this TV. The volume will work when we watch a DVD and it will work when my kids play the PS2 but we have no volume when we switch inputs to watch regular satelite TV. I have tried all the audio settings in the menu and I have tried unplugging the TV in the hopes it will reset. I also tried unhooking all devices (DVD & PS2)and then hooking them back up.

Hitachi 51F510 No Video

This is not good. Try and push the menu button for the tv. If the menu can be seen, your problem is in the video circuits. If not, it can still be a video circuit problem but it will also add more circuits. Try to hook up your dvd or cable box or satelite box to the tv in different maners. I mean for you to use the yellow connection, then the S-video connection, then the red, blue, green, connection to hook up your dvd. If all of these type of hook ups give you the same thing, take your tv to the repair shop. If one of them fixes the problem, then leave your dvd hooked up in that fassion to watch tv.

Connect to dvd player

On the back panel of your tv you will see two audio inputs labeled AUDIO TO HI-FI. Plug your surround sound audio jacks, ( red and white ) into that. Plug your video jack ( yellow ) into what ever number input you are going to use for dvd, if needed. This will allow you to watch tv and hear it in your surround sound. You should also go to menu- then- audio option and turn off your tv internal speakers, this will allow your tv remote to control your volume of surround sound. Hope this helped.

Same problem but mine goes black for long periods. Menu prompts still available and volume "meter" on screen is still visible. Have rerouted cable, changed outlets, all to no avail.

Volume does not work.

Good day.
You are possibly right. Audio circuit might got affected. I would like to suggest likewise that you check also if the speaker is busted, the audio IC and if it receives supply from the flyback.

Connecting PS2 to a Hitachi 51F500

Sure! My kid is playing her brand new PS2 on ours right now. Just open up the front panel (where the start button is) and hook the three wires there, then choose the 5th input button on the remote.

That is all there is to it.

55" No volume

see if u can plug a headset jack in the front somewhere. some remotes have a funtion that turn the speakers off on the projector so u can hook up external speakers in the back of set. check that. also try switching to mono mode only. if all fails you need a shop. good luck
