Hello, Try a soft reset, unplug the TV from the AC outlet then reconnect, then power the TV on. You should get some kind of a start up menu. If you don't then make sure you're DVD is operating normally there might be something wrong with the disc player and that is why it is reverting to disc pick up or disc load.
first you must check if your portable loads cd or mp3. If it loads cd or mp3 the defect is lens and this should be replace by an expert. If both cd,mp3 and dvd didn't load you check first the ribbon wire for signs of disconnection and foldings and then replace it. If still your portable didn't work the most probable defect is MPEG board. To distinguish if MPEG or lens defect in lens shows malfunction such as not reading dvd but reading mp3 or cd, unwanted stop of play even with a good dvd.

try to pass it off to the warranty holder for repairs.
