1. on the bottom of the RCA RCD150 Radio/Cassette/CD Boombox you will find a small square with a screw at the top.
2. unscrew the bottom and put the right size batteries in
3. screw the square bach on after putting in the batteries

Hello,since this unit is a top loader its very susceptible to dust and dirt on the laser.I recommend opening the cd door ,locating the laser( small bluish or clear lens) and gently rub a dry q-tip over the top of it.
with top tray cd players they collect a lot of dust over the laser using an ear bud dipped in metholated spirits or rubbing alcohol rub the lens clean and try the disc again it should work fine
Look on the back - the connector is either a 'figure 8' connector with 2 circular type connections, or one side is round and the other is shaped like the letter "D". Either are available at Radio Shack.
Cassette players usually have a little rubber band that connects the motor to the spindles. If everything else is fine, I would suggest seeing if it slipped off somehow (or got cracked and snapped)
