I have a Kodak c310 camera and a new SD 2GB card was bought for it. When put in, the camera says memory is full, and it needed to be formatted, I went to format it and got FILESYS ERROR e00100. The card the camera had in it berforehand was the same size. How can I format it properly?

My dad has the bought the same camera as mine.....easyshare 310, mine has been great for several years so he got one. i was using a 256 mb card in mine, all that was available was a 2gb for his, and after i put it in his camera says memory full, and format code........so i thought mem card was too big, so i tried my card in his......same thing but now my card wont even work in my camera......is something in his camera frying the cards? is that possible? I had just used mine before i tried it in his camera and it was fine so whatever happened was from his camera.......

Same as the others - I have a C310 and had a 1GB memory card that was working fine. Lost it and replaced with 2 different cards that would not format - getting filesys error e00100 on all of them. Cannot find smaller cards and was told tonight that our local Wal-Mart would going to discontinue anything less then 4Gb soon!! Help with this please.

Older C310s won't take that large a card. Try to exchange it for a 1 GB or smaller. I had the same problem - a PNY 1 GB works fine

What GB memory card does work in a C310 digital camera. My printer dock does not work anymore except to charge my camera and I thought I could get a memory card and print the few pictures I take at a...

The C310 will accept SD cards up to 2GB in size and SDHC cards up to 32 GB. 1GB SD cards are getting hard to find, but 2GB cards should work just as well.

BTW, FixYa doesn't have an online store.

A new SD card 2 GB wil not work in my C310 kodak digital camera Message in camera "memory card full" message in card reader when trying to format the card says "write protected" Is this card too Big?

No, the C310 will handle a 2GB card.

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

My camera won't accept new 2GB SD card. Keep

Do you have pics on the internal memory? You must format the internal memory with no card in the camera. Then, format the card.

I have a kodak c310, trying to format the card and it keeps saying memory full format card, so i format and it comes up FILESYS ERROR e00100, but it's a new card?

The c310 will only accept SD cards up to 2GB.

You haven't said which card you're trying to use but the symptoms are typical of those encountered if you try either a larger capacity SD card (which go to 4GB maximum) or if you're trying to use a later SDHC (the HC means High Capacity) card. The c310 was designed and manufactured before SDHC cards were manufactured and is incompatible at the basic hardware level. SDHC's will fit inside as they have the same form as SD cards, but your camera is unable to use them.

If you have tried using the wrong card then all you need to do to fix the error is to replace it with a standard SD card not exceeding 2GB. In practice you'll find that your camera may have issues with some brands/models of 2GB SD cards but that it will work fine with any make or model of 1GB SD card. The smaller capacity card will also ensure that your camera does not become awkwardly slow in operation.

Hopefully I've answered your question; all I ask in return is that you return the favour by rating my answer.

Hi there
Check to make sure the cards write protect is off, take the card out of the camera, face the card towards you, look for a small white tab on the left hand side of the card, to unlock it push the tab down, it will be at the side of the card like this 59a6de4.jpg . Put it back in the camera and use the menu to format the card.
If the format fails then its a possibility that you will need a new card.

Good luck and thanks for choosing FixYa!!
