Have you tried all of the USB ports? front and rear? If the problem is the same with all ports you could get an internal USB board that fits in the PCI slot. It is cheaper than a new motherboard and that is the only other thing I would suggest( although you could check the USB drivers are properly installed)
are you sure thats the correct motherboard model number?
cause, thats looks an awful lot like the VIA chipset model number, on an ASUS K8V-MX motherboard...
it depends on weither the case and the motherboard are the same usb connection . make sure that there both usb 2.0 or 1.1 not one or the other as the connections or not compatible .
